My work experience
Why I Love Building Web Apps
My Story
Since I was about 10 years old (1983) when I got my first computer, which was a TRS-80 from Radio Shack, I have been fascinated with computers. Life took me in a different direction and I served in the military until 2021. I decided to pursue my long-time interest in computing because I am looking for new challenges. Being a software engineer allows me to fit both my analytical side and my creative side into one profession.
My Passion
I have many interests ranging from travel to languages to the outdoors. What I am most passionate about in a profession is helping people to solve their problems. I love working with people but I really enjoy solutions to the many challenges that we, as people, face in our everyday lives. What gives me the most pleasure in my work is being able to take pride in the results of anything that I do. It is the best feeling after struggling with challenges to see a final product that I can be proud of.
My Strength
I have always been curious about computers. For that reason, I was never afraid to learn more about them. I wrote my first programs in BASIC when I was about 11 years old. I completed most of the A+ certification years ago and ventured into selling used laptops on Ebay during which time I began doing small repairs, diagnosing problems, disassembling laptops and installing various versions of Linux. I am very confident diagnosing and solving problems where the issue or solution aren't obvious.
